Hello!

Could you, please, tell me whether it's better to say 'tell me about the advantages and disadvantages of something' or 'tell me the advantages and disadvantages of something'?

In my community of English speakers (Southeastern Pennsylvania) both versions would be heard as perfectly "correct" and normal English.  In conversation there could be a subtle difference perceived by the hearer that could invite slightly different responses.

"Tell me about the advantages and disadvantages" might be understood more as an invitation to have a discussion about them.

"Tell me the advantages and disadvantages" might be heard more as simply a request for your list.

Richard, thank you! It's very similar to Russian in this case.
